“I want to share the story of why I started Liht Organics. Back in my twenties, I suffered from severe acne on my face, chest, and back. I tried everything—oral medications and even steroid injections—but I realized I wasn’t curing the problem; I was just repressing it. When I did my own research, I discovered the cause: I was allergic to many chemicals found in everyday skincare and makeup.
I did a full detox and switched to organic products, and my skin cleared up in just three months. But while organic skincare was easy to find, finding organic makeup that actually performed well was almost impossible.
That’s when I decided I had to create my own line. I had three criteria: First, it had to be high-performance—long-lasting and pigmented. Second, it had to have skincare benefits; why should makeup be bad for you when it can be good for you? And thirdly, it had to be safe enough to eat. Since 60 percent of what you put on your skin is absorbed into your body, I encourage you to look at your ingredients and ask: would you actually eat this?”
